Department of Rachana Sharir (Anatomy)

The department of Rachana Sharir (Anatomy)forms the cornerstone of Ayurvedic medical education, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the structural organization of the human body through the principles of both classical Ayurveda and contemporary anatomical science. As one of the fundamental subjects of the BAMS curriculum, the department lays a strong academic foundation essential for clinical diagnosis, surgical proficiency, and evidence-based medical practice.

The department is equipped with modern teaching aids, a well-designed dissection hall, an anatomy museum, osteology section, histology laboratory, and demonstration facilities that facilitate interactive and experiential learning. Students are encouraged to develop a thorough understanding of human anatomy through cadaveric dissection, osteology demonstrations, microscopic studies, anatomical models, charts, digital learning resources, and other innovative teaching methodologies.

Emphasizing the philosophy of "learning by observation and practice," the department integrates theoretical knowledge with practical exposure to cultivate scientific temperament, analytical thinking, and clinical competence. The department also encourages students to appreciate the unique Ayurvedic concepts of Sharira Rachana alongside modern anatomical principles, thereby fostering an integrated understanding of the human body.

The department aims to create a stimulating academic environment that inspires curiosity, research, and lifelong learning while preparing students for excellence in clinical practice, surgery, and higher academic pursuits.
